Shrimp Darwin Algae

The Darwin Algae Shrimp (Caridina sp. NTnilotica) is a small freshwater crustacean native to Australia, typically measuring 1–2.5 cm in length. Often transparent and marked by a distinctive white stripe, these shrimp are popular in planted aquariums as part of the cleanup crew. They are particularly effective at grazing on hair algae and biofilm, helping maintain tank cleanliness while contributing very little to the overall bioload.
