Rotala macrandra "Variegated" is a cultivar and is just as challenging as the normal Rotala macrandra.Â
It is an attractive but demanding plant. Light must be intense (>3wpg) and CO2 is recommended for it to show its true beauty. NO3 (>10ppm) and PO4 (1.5-2 ppm) is necessary for it to thrive.
It also requires iron and micronutrients, otherwise the plant turns pale. Â
If all the conditions are met, you will be rewarded with one of the most beautiful stem plants available to a hobbyist.
